"Social Cohesion" support programme

The "Social Cohesion" funding programme is part of the urban development funding initiated by the federal and state governments. It is dedicated to improving local living, housing and working conditions through structural and social measures.

What is the funding programme supposed to achieve?

The aim of the "Social Cohesion" programme is to make neighbourhoods more liveable and to strengthen cohesion in the neighbourhood. The funding programme supports neighbourhoods in cities and municipalities that are facing urban development, economic and social challenges.

It aims to combine structural measures with accompanying, non-structural approaches that promote a strong sense of community and good coexistence. Funding can be provided for investments in the residential environment, infrastructure and quality of living in order to strengthen intergenerational equity, family friendliness, educational opportunities, integration and social cohesion.

Further information on the funding programme can be found on the website of the Hessian Ministry of Economics, Energy, Transport, Housing and Rural Areas.
